At Unilang Idiomas, we offer a wide range of courses to our foreign students. We have designed general Spanish courses, courses for specific purposes, or preparation for official exams such as DELE or SIELE, in individual, semi-private, or group formats. We also guarantee a broad immersion experience in a Spanish-speaking environment, offering excursions and cultural and sports activities. At the end of our Spanish courses, students receive a certificate of achievement stating the duration of the course and the level completed. We also encourage our students to officially certify their level by taking the DELE or SIELE exams.
Mini-stays are courses scheduled for groups, with a minimum of 15 students, throughout the year.
This type of course, lasting 3 to 7 days, is ideal for getting to know the life and customs of our region and is mainly aimed at both young school-age students and senior adults.
Classes last 2 or 3 hours a day in the morning, with afternoons dedicated to different cultural activities and excursions under the supervision of a guide teacher, who will show them the beautiful region of Cantabria in all its splendor. The course methodology is mainly aimed at everyday actions, with which the student will soon become familiar.

Spanish summer courses take place during the months of July and August, aimed mainly at schools, universities, travel agencies, tour operators, senior centers, etc., that decide to send groups of at least 15 people, for a minimum duration of two weeks.
These courses provide all students with a general study of the Spanish language, with special reference to practical communicative activities, both oral and written, conducting classes for a minimum of 3 hours daily in the morning, dedicating afternoons to both cultural and sports activities, or making visits to places of tourist interest.
These courses are aimed at people who want to start or improve their general knowledge of Spanish.
Its methodology is mainly conversational, placing great emphasis on phonetics and ear training for the language, without forgetting the written and grammatical components.
All students will have a dossier of worksheets to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the classroom.
Before starting the course, students will take a level test to place them in groups according to their knowledge.

This course is designed for teachers of Spanish as a foreign language, who need to update, increase, or consolidate their level of knowledge.
It covers comprehensive topics such as: Spanish Literature, language, geography, and history.
During the classes, you can practice the most current Spanish, reading and commenting on texts from newspapers and magazines, watching and discussing TV programs or internet pages, the history of Spain in its different periods, the notable rise of Spanish cinema in Anglo-Saxon markets, Spain within the European Union, etc.
For all this, we have the most modern audiovisual methods and work materials.
The student can also choose from cultural and leisure activities that include visits to museums, tourist towns in the area, sports activities, etc.

This course is aimed at those people who, in addition to learning the Spanish language, wish to make the most of their stay in Cantabria by living with the teacher, who, depending on their needs, helps them to immerse themselves in the business, cultural, and leisure environments of the region.
This course covers important topics such as: The history of Spain in its different eras, literature, art, religion, politics, geography, gastronomy, habitat, and typical Spanish customs, all in a family environment, such as sharing daily life with one of our teachers.
It is a mainly conversational course, and one of the fastest ways to learn idiomatic expressions, which only occur in this environment.

These courses are aimed at people with prior knowledge of the subject and with real interests and needs in this area. Students are usually students or professionals interested in the fields of economics, business, foreign trade, marketing, etc.
The objectives of the course are to bring students and professionals closer to the business world. This course is designed for them to quickly learn the specific vocabulary of Business Spanish; to do this, it develops all the skills of the Spanish language and specific business vocabulary.
It covers complex topics such as: business management, import and export, business meals, foreign trade, labor relations, the product, the stock market, banking, advertising, insurance, job interviews, telephone, business correspondence, the job market, etc.

These courses are aimed at people who need to function primarily in the workplace, with a characteristic language specific to each type of situation.
To do this, the communicative needs of their work sector are covered, using the specific lexicon for each topic and presenting the elementary functions that we may encounter, as well as texts, documents, and audiovisual material aimed at understanding and acquiring vocabulary related to the activity in which the student operates.

These courses are run by and for professionals in the business sector.
Nowadays, one of the main problems that professionals face when faced with the need to learn or master a language is the limited availability of time.
Unilang Idiomas, after more than 30 years of experience in the business sector, has designed total immersion courses, with which we have successfully solved the problem of lack of time that plagues the business world.
The immersion courses take place in a minimum reduced time, depending on the level and objectives, of six days, during which the teachers carry out super-intensive work with the student, from breakfast to dinner.

These courses aim to prepare students to obtain the Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE). These Diplomas are official qualifications, certifying the degree of competence and command of the Spanish language, granted by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education of Spain.
These exams are aimed at all those people who wish to certify their degree of competence and mastery of the language, as well as a greater approach to the culture of Spanish-speaking countries.
The DELE exams are divided into 5 parts (reading comprehension, written expression, listening comprehension, oral expression, and grammar and vocabulary). To obtain the DELE, a grade of 'PASS' is required in each of these five parts.
The exam enrollment fee is not included in the price of these courses.
DELE levels follow the structure of the six levels of the COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES:
- - The Diploma of Spanish Level A1 certifies sufficient linguistic competence to understand and use very frequent everyday expressions anywhere in the Spanish-speaking world, aimed at satisfying immediate needs.
- - The Diploma of Spanish Level A2 certifies that the candidate is able to understand frequently used everyday phrases and expressions related to areas of experience that are especially relevant to them (basic information about themselves and their family, shopping, places of interest, occupations, etc.).
- - The Diploma of Spanish Level B1 certifies sufficient linguistic competence to understand and react appropriately to the most common situations in daily life and to communicate desires and needs in a basic way.
- - The Diploma of Spanish Level B2 certifies sufficient linguistic competence to function in common everyday situations, under normal communication circumstances that do not require specialized use of the language.
- - The Diploma of Spanish Level C1 certifies sufficient linguistic competence to express oneself clearly and without having to limit what one wants to say. The candidate has a good command of a wide lexical repertoire, including idiomatic and colloquial expressions.
- - The Diploma of Spanish Level C2 certifies the linguistic competence necessary to function in situations that require a high use of the language and knowledge of the cultural habits that are manifested through it.

Hotel City House Alisas
The Hotel City House Alisas is located next to the ferry terminal in the center of Santander. The reception is open 24 hours and has free internet access. Santander's train and bus stations are 200 meters away.
The rooms are spacious and functional and have wireless internet connection, safe, satellite flat-screen TV, and telephone. They also have modern bathrooms.
Santander Central Hostel
Located in the center of Santander, 200 meters from our center, next to the bay, the carefully restored Santander Central Hostel combines its style and decoration with the most modern functionality in its facilities, resulting in a warm and personal atmosphere, within which the suites stand out, installed on the top floor, offering unparalleled views of the city and its bay.
UNILANG offers the opportunity to stay in a beautiful apartment, next to the Sardinero beaches, just 15 minutes from our center.
Each apartment is fully equipped, with all necessary daily-use appliances, as well as full room service, telephone, TV, heating, garage, etc.
The rooms are spacious and functional and have wireless internet connection, safe, satellite flat-screen TV, and telephone. They also have modern bathrooms.
The apartments can be rented as single or double, interchangeably.

Santander, the hospitable and pleasant capital of Cantabria, in northern Spain, is a modern and cosmopolitan city located in one of the most beautiful bays in the world.
Located in a privileged landscape environment, it combines the urban flavor of a dynamic and commercial city with exceptionally beautiful natural spaces, with extensive green areas and beaches, highlighting the Palacio de la Magdalena, as well as places full of charm and history such as El Sardinero, Paseo Pereda, the Cathedral, or Puerto Chico.
Santander enjoys an attractive cultural atmosphere, offering the visitor an intense and varied range of leisure and sports activities, making it the ideal setting for both study and leisure.
In its vicinity, we find towns of interest that offer various attractions for visitors, notably Santillana del Mar, one of the towns of greatest historical and artistic value in Spain; the Altamira Cave, famous worldwide for its prehistoric paintings, the Cabárceno Nature Park, a spectacular zoo with animals in semi-freedom; the Picos de Europa, an impressive mountainous landscape where you can visit the beautiful town of Potes or the Soplao Cave; and the typical fishing villages of San Vicente, Comillas, Laredo, and Castro Urdiales.
Furthermore, due to its privileged location, Santander is very close to interesting and well-known cities such as Bilbao, San Sebastián, Oviedo, or Burgos, which can be visited over the weekend or even in a day trip.
USEFUL TIPS AND TOPICS OF INTEREST
Cantabria has a temperate climate throughout the year. The average temperature in the capital, Santander, is 20°C during the months of April to September, and 10°C from December to March, although in winter it often reaches about 20°C due to the south wind.
From our experience, we are convinced that living with a family is the best way to understand Spanish culture and life.
The selection and monitoring of host families is carried out, under the supervision of our family coordinator, with extreme care, placing great emphasis on location, cleanliness, student attention, food, general well-being, and family environment.
There is the possibility of accommodating students in single or double rooms with full board or half board.
Documents.
– Valid passport, etc.
Clothing– Comfortable clothing and footwear are advised; a sweater, jeans, clothes for sports and appropriate footwear, swimsuit, and beach towel.
– Personal hygiene: Toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant, cologne, etc.
– A small backpack, to put a lunch bag in, for both sports and cultural activities.
Money.
– Although most courses include activities and teaching materials in their price, we advise all students to bring money for their personal expenses.
The Cantabrian region is characterized as one of the quietest and safest in Spain. However, and for greater peace of mind, all Unilang Idiomas students have civil liability and medical insurance in case of any mishap.
Our teachers are highly qualified university graduates with experience in teaching Spanish to foreigners.
The classrooms are equipped with the most modern audiovisual means, and the center is equipped with computers, free wifi area for our students, video, and library.
The school provides all the necessary material for classes, although students are recommended to bring a pen and a notebook.
At the end of the course, all students will receive a certificate issued by A.S.C.E.L.E. (Cantabrian Association for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language).
Unilang Idiomas offers its students a varied program of cultural, sports, and leisure activities.
Some of the visits we organize are: the Guggenheim Museum and Bilbao, the prehistoric caves of Altamira or Puente Viesgo, the Picos de Europa National Park and the Fuente Dé cable car, the Cabárceno Nature Park, the medieval village of Santillana del Mar, the Maritime Museum, the Soplao Cave (with unique geological formations), guided tour of the city of Santander, etc.
Regarding leisure activities, we offer dance classes (flamenco, funky, and salsa), cooking, shopping, and cinema, sports (soccer, basketball, swimming, golf, water sports...), chocolate with churros, tapas tasting, farewell dinner, and tuna (university singers), etc.
We have an optional pick-up service for all students who request it.

Our Spanish courses have an enrollment fee of €80 which includes the teaching material and the certificate given at the end of the course.
Students, before starting the course, must take a test to determine their Spanish level.
